Caring for Your Concrete Furniture
At Concrete Legacy Studios, every piece is handcrafted and sealed to the highest standard, ensuring durability and practicality. Concrete is a resilient material that ages beautifully over time, developing its own unique patina. That said, a little TLC goes a long way in keeping your furniture looking its best for years to come. Don’t worry—you don’t need to treat it like fine china! Here are some simple tips to help you care for your concrete furniture.

Handling Spills (Yes, Even Red Wine!)
We seal our furniture with a top-tier, food-grade penetrative sealant that protects against most spills. However, it’s always a good idea to wipe up acidic liquids like red wine, vinegar, or lemon juice promptly. Left too long, they may etch the surface or leave a mark. If that happens, don’t panic—reach out to us at design@concretelegacystudios.design. We’ve got plenty of tips to help you tackle those stubborn spots!

Day-to-Day Cleaning
Cleaning your concrete table is simple:
-
Use a warm, damp cloth for daily maintenance.
-
If needed, add a touch of mild detergent, but it’s not essential.
-
Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scrubbers, as these can dull the sealant and compromise the finish.
A little common sense goes a long way—vigorous scrubbing isn’t necessary to keep your concrete looking great.

Outdoor Use
Concrete furniture thrives outdoors, but a bit of care will keep it looking its best:
-
Avoid leaving vases, candles, or planters on the table during heavy rain, as pooled water can leave temporary marks.
-
Any watermarks should fade within a few weeks, as long as there’s no acidic contamination.
-
Rotate decorative items occasionally to prevent uneven wear.

Heavy Items, Sunlight, and Centrepieces
Your concrete furniture is tough, but a little protection helps:
-
Use felt pads, table runners, or placemats under heavy vases or centrepieces to avoid scratches.
-
Direct sunlight can cause mild colour changes over time—rotating items periodically can help prevent noticeable marks.
-
Dragging heavy objects across the surface can lead to scratches, so be mindful when moving things.

Chips and Cracks on Edges
Concrete is strong, but its edges are vulnerable to impact from hard objects. If you have chairs with armrests or other features that might knock against the table, let us know during the design process—we can adjust the height or profile to suit your space. That’s the beauty of our custom designs!

The Golden Rules (In a Nutshell)
-
Wipe as you go: A quick clean-up keeps things looking fresh.
-
Use coasters, runners, and placemats: They’re simple ways to protect your surface.
-
No harsh chemicals or chopping boards: Keep the sealant intact by treating your table with care.
